Hi, I’m Claire. Owner of Robinson Sewing Studio.

Something that everyone who knows me will tell you. I love making things. I’m that kind of person that sees something in a shop and goes “I bet I can make that”… I usually can, but then it will also cost a lot more in the process. But the gratification of making something beautiful yourself, is a joy I can’t put into words.

A little bit of history about me. I grew up in a small town on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. I’ve worked in customer services since I was 14 years old starting in a Silver Service Hotel in Gisburn whilst taking my GCSE’s, through to working in Banking, Events and eventually settling down as Cabin Crew for a Yorkshire Based Airline (now, not so Yorkshire based!) I was there for 12 years before I hung up my wings to be a stay at home mum to my little boy. I’m an animal lover. I grew up with cats, and have since had an African Pygmy Hedgehog and have 2 of the daftest retired racing greyhounds.

Over the years, I’ve tried so many hobbies. Lockdown of 2020 had a lot to answer for! I already knew how to crochet and sew long before then, but I taught myself how to make wax melts (who didn’t?!), resin art, got one of those Cricut machines, etching glasses etc and then I came across a second hand embroidery machine and fell in love!

I’ve since decluttered and downsized my crafting stash, but still had a spare room full of yarn waiting to be made into something beautiful! So here I am. Ready to crochet/sew/embroider something lovely.
